"Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me;

and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is

the one who is least among you all who is the greatest."

(Luke 9:48)

Little Children

Prevent little children to stumble (Matthew 18:6) as per this revelation:

2010.09.21; Divine Child Incident (Welcome Little Children; Luke 9:48)

1. For a better and peaceful future, let us not ignore the little children; let us guide them to the right road for spiritual development:

  • Proverbs 22:6, "Guide the children to right road, so that when they grow old they will do right things."

2. During Jesus’ time, it was emphasized the importance of the little children:

Do not cause them to stumble.

  • Matthew 18:6, “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” (Mark 9:42)

Do not rebuke the little children, to such belongs the kingdom of God.

  • Mark 10:13-14, "And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God."

    Do not embitter your children.

  • Colossians 3:21, "Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged."

3. Inform the children of the New Creation

  • 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"

In addition, let them know of the following verse:

  • Hebrews 8:13, "By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

4. Under the New Creation, guide the little children not of complicated religions of complicated rules but love, which is the greatest:

  • 1 Corinthians 13:13, "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

5. Let the children to know of this verse, encouraging them to mingle with each other in love regardless of differences:

  • 1 John 4:12, "No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us."

  • Romans 13:8, "Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law."

6. Emphasize to the little children to honor their mother and father.

  • Matthew 19:19, "Honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself."

7. Guide the little children to pray, no longer in the man-made church (Acts 17:24) but inside the room and in secret:

  • Matthew 6:5-6, "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

8. Guide the little children to care for people, not idols; humanity, not idolatry:

  • 1 John 5:21, "Dear children, keep yourselves from idols."
  • 1 Corinthians 10:14, “Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.”

9. Guide the little children about the nature of God: He is not like gold, or silver, or stone.

  • Acts 17:29, "Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by human design and skill.”

9. Guide the little children to love their neighbor as themselves saying that it is more important than the burnt offerings and sacrifices:

  • Mark 12:33, "To love God with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

10. Guide the little children that Jesus came not to be served but to serve.

  • Mark 10:45, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

11. Guide little children on how to serve Jesus: To serve Jesus is to help the poor.

  • Matthew 25:35-36, "For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

12. Guide the little children on how to love Jesus is to keep his commands.

  • John 14:15, “If you love me, keep my commands."

13. Guide little children on what to do for the love of God is to keep his commands.

  • 1 John 5:3, "In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome.”

14. Guide the little children the basic of God’s command:

  • 1 John 3:23, "And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us."

15. Guide the little children of God's foundational command: Rule over the fish, birds, livestock, wild animals, and all over creatures that move on the ground.

  • Genesis 1:26, "Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
