“Know Jesus, not how he died but how he lived.”

2011.04.19 - Lent & Holy Week Meaning Incident

I used to walk every day for one to two hours from the MOL (Mansion Of Love, Dagonoy St., San Andres Bukid, Manila), my small room situated at the sidewalk, part of the squatter. There were a number of occasions that I walked and stayed overnight at small living space the balcony of my sister Dita’s extension, at Bautista St. Pasay City. I find it convenient because my other old computer is at her place that in case I stayed there overnight, I can continue writing of the miracles under the 21stCentury Divine Revelation (21CDR). On April 19, 2011, I happened to hear from the small radio of Dita the Lent speech of President Benigno Aquino III, known as Noynoy, and I took note the important message, as indicated below;

“Dagdagan ang dasal ng kasipagan.” (Add diligence to prayer)

In addition, here are some traditional practices with regards to this Lent and/or Holy Week;

  • Many churches focus on how Jesus died in celebrating Lent.
  • They commemorate the forty days Jesus' fasting in the wilderness on fasting than the forty days after the resurrection.
  • They practice fasting, procession, and even visiting seven churches.
  • They reenact how Jesus suffered like carrying the cross and being whacked, and sometimes, being nailed to the cross.
  • They promote “Pabasa” (singing about the story of Jesus’ persecution & crucifixion).

Jesus did not ask the above to be observed. What he was so concerned is the unity of humanity that he prayed before his arrest;

John 17:20-21, "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me."

And if we love Jesus, we are to obey Jesus’ commands (John 14:15), and one of his basic commands is for us to love one another, as he loves us. (John 13:34), and if this we obey instead of old religious traditions, Lent, then we can attain Jesus' prayer of the unity of the world.

Jesus did not really want to be served (Mark 10:45), as such practices in observance of Lent and/or Holy Week. If Jesus is present in Lent Season, he will stop the celebration especially when thousands of people dying per day worldwide due to starvation, civil wars, refugee crisis, etc..

Since Holy Week is a holiday when government people and most workers are off, this must be the time to execute the greatest commandment, which is also the path to eternal life.

Galatians 5:14, "For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27, Mark 12:30-33, Mat. 19:19)

Time for the rich to imitate Jesus’ disciples to fish for people, especially the poor, and put into action the following Bible verse;

Matthew 25:35-36, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

The above is part of the teaching on how to inherit eternal life and in line with faith with works, as revealed in the 21st Century Divine Revelation;

2005.01.07; Action Moth Incident (Faith without works is dead; James 2;17)

In summary, stop practices in Lent and/or Holy Week, and instead, we simply live life in line with the Gospel, as expressed in the following slogan;

“Know Jesus, not how he died but how he lived.” (in line w/ 1 John 2:6)
